How did i get here?
I remember those days very well. Finishing up painting for the day. feverishly scrubbing brushes. hoping i’d get to barnes and noble at union square in from my painting studio at the school of visual arts in New York City.
The great irony was: when I got to B+N i wouldn’t read.
I just wanted to be around books.
I spent the better part of two decades never finding myself as an illustrator. yes, i was competent, but i never had anything critical or personal to say. that all changed in twenty-sixteen when i took my first creative writing class with jennifer brody at the writing pad in los angeles.
Never in my wildest imagination did i think i’d be an author, but that is exactly what has happened.
i am so grateful to stand in the shadows of the masters of this great craft.
